What is the difference between cleaning and disinfection in a hospital?

What is colour-coded cleaning and why is it used?
Colour coding assigns a colour to each zone type — for example separate colours for sanitary areas, clinical areas, kitchens and general areas — and equipment of that colour is only ever used in that zone.
