Restoration versus maintenance
Restoration is the one-off work that brings a neglected floor back: stripping old polish and contaminated sealer, deep scrubbing, grinding or diamond polishing on stone, then resealing. It is the right answer when a floor has been maintained badly for years.
Maintenance is what stops you needing to do that again. A planned cycle of buffing, spray-cleaning and periodic re-coating keeps the protective layer intact so that traffic wears the sealer rather than the floor itself. It is significantly cheaper than repeated restoration.
Slip resistance and safety
Floor finishes affect slip resistance, and the wrong product on the wrong substrate creates a real hazard. Safety flooring in particular relies on an aggregate surface that must not be sealed over. We select products by substrate and by the traffic the area carries, and works are programmed around access so wet floors are never left in an occupied route.

How often should commercial floors be stripped and sealed?
It depends on traffic and substrate rather than a fixed calendar. A busy reception in vinyl may need a full strip and seal annually with buffing in between; a low-traffic office area can run much longer. The aim is to re-coat before the sealer wears through to the floor, because once traffic reaches the substrate the damage is permanent.
Can a badly worn stone floor be restored without replacing it?
In most cases yes. Stone can be diamond ground and polished back to a uniform surface, which removes scratching and traffic dulling, and then sealed. Restoration is normally a fraction of the cost of replacement and avoids taking the space out of use for a fit-out.
Do you carry out floorcare out of hours?
Yes. Stripping, sealing and restoration need drying and curing time and cannot be done around occupants, so this work is scheduled evenings, weekends or during shutdowns. The programme is planned so each area is back in service before it is needed.
